Weber vs. Jones Jr.

Front Page.....Daily Advance October 23rd. 'Jones voters know his Integrity'............Jones, "I don't think there is anybody in this district that doesn't understand my integrity and moral character."

Was it integrity........

When you came up with the Freedom Fries Fiasco?

When you called for a withdrawal from Iraq, after you helped send our troops into harms way and helped sustain this illegal action, you turned your back on the Military. Was that your Integrity?

When you stood on the Floor of the Armed Services Committee and said that Someone Should Apologize to Saddam Hussein for removing him from office; thus, disrespecting every Veteran and family, who ever wore the uniform? Was that your Integrity?

When you and others came up with a resolution for Withdrawal from Iraq, and when it came up for vote.....you did not even vote on your own resolution. Was that your Integrity?

When you voted 'no' to raising the minimum wage, and yet Congress was given a raise......Was that your Integrity?

Voting against tax breaks for the middle and lower income, while voting 'for' tax breaks for the rich....Was that your integrity?

You said that you would not support Offshore Drilling, then, you voted for it in the last session. You lied. Was that your Integrity?

You signed the Republican Contract with America. You swore, signed and pledged that you would not run for more than six terms. You pledged that "If we break this contract.......throw us out." Six terms are up and you are breaking the contract. Is this your Integrity and Moral Character?

When asked about the Voting Rights Act, you said that we've gotten passed discrimination by now. Where have you been living? Was that your Moral Character?

Walter Jones and more than half the Congress of the United States of America knew of Mark Foley's sexual behavior. Speaker of the House Hastert knew, and supports Foley; and, Walter Jones worked closely with Congressman Foley on many Young People's Committees and Conferences. Jones knew and supports Hastert. Hastert, Jones and others all knew Mark Foley was a sexual predator and turned a 'deaf ear', until being caught. If you know about a sexual deviant for even a day and don't report this, it is inexcusable and no better than the perpetrator. How much more 'innocence' has been violated in the interim. We must protect our young people, or we set a bad example. Walter, you knew, and did nothing. Was this your Integrity and Moral Character? Deplorable.

Other issues:
  1. Walter Jones said he wouldn't support offshore drilling a few months ago. He voted 'FOR' offshore drilling in House Vote. It is environmentally unsafe off N.C. because of air and water currents and the formation of low pressures, known as Hatteras Lows or Nor'easters. A low pressure laden with an oil spill would destroy the coast for years.
  2. Walter Jones voted against 'raising the minimum wage'. Then, Congress voted itself a raise.
  3. Walter Jones voted against 'tax breaks' for lower and middle income families. He voted 'FOR' tax breaks for the rich and upper income.
  4. Walter Jones called for a resolution to get a pullout of Iraq. When it came up for 'vote', he didn't even vote on his own resolution.
  5. Walter Jones Jr. has voted 'No' to a Port Security Bill. And, yet, he talks of 'National Security'.
  6. Walter Jones didn't even vote against the Private Property Act. This means you cannot confront the Government legally when they want to 'take' your property. You have no recourse to their 'Eminent Domain' policy.
  7. Walter Jones knew of Congressman Mark Foley's sexual behavior. Walter Jones supports Speaker of the House Hastert, who backs Foley. Anyone who knew of this sexual predator behavior and didn't confront it is no better than the assailant. More than HALF of the United States Congress knew of this. We must protect our young people.
  8. I was never for the War In Iraq. Jones supported the Bush/CheneyHalliburton plan, only until public sentiment changed. Then, Walter Jones decided to go the way the wind would blow, changed his course, and he went against the War. He supported placing our Military in harm's way and then turned on them. You do not undermine and compromise a Military Mission... even, if you change your mind about the war. For Jones, their representative who is also a Member of the Armed Services Committee, turn against them, after voting to send them into combat, is inexcusable and destroys morale. Viet Nam again! He has disrespected every Veteran who wore the Uniform.
  9. Walter Jones Jr. said when questioned about the 'discrimination' protection in Section 5 of the Voting Rights Act; he said casually, that he thought we had gotten past discrimination by now. He hasn't been, or lived where many still feel discrimination to this day. The Voting Rights Act was voted on without Section 5 this time. Originally, it protected against changing of voting places, education districts and congressional districts without approval from the Department of Justice. Now, that has changed. Walter Jones voted for the change.

Let us take our District back. Let us take our Country back. I will be a Congressman of the People.
