- Mr. Weber is a United States Marine. ‘Once one…always one’
- His home is Morehead City in Carteret County. It has been his home most of his life.
- He has worked in Television for Twenty Five years. He was our Weatherman in Eastern North Carolina at WCTI Ch 12.
- He initiated a talk show with Emphasis and exposure for the East Carolina Medical School.
- He is a full member of The National Weather Association and The American Meteorological Society.
- In a nationwide search he was picked as one of the top 26 meteorologist in the country and helped to start the now famous “The Weather Channel”
- He was Chief Meteorologist in Richmond, Houston, West Palm, New York and Philadelphia.
- He received special awards from law enforcement agencies.
- He helped raise funds and aid for families whose loved ones Lost their lives in the line of duty.
- Initiated special programs such as ’In Touch with Young America.”
- Appearances requested by Heart Fund and March of Dimes.
- Annual Master of Ceremonies for Special Olympics.
- Cited for his work with Cystic Fibrosis.
- Nominated ’Outstanding Young Man In America’.
- Picked as ’Best Weatherman for the Ideal Newscast’ in Houston.
- Voted ‘Best TV Weatherman’ Houston, Texas
- Picked as ‘Most Accurate Weatherman’ by the Philadelphia Press Club.
- Nominated over the years for Associated Press and Emmy Awards.
- While in Houston, Mr. Weber became a friend to Astronaut Alan Shepard. He was the first American in space. They did combined Projects including the passing of Halley’s Comet.
While in Houston, Mr. Weber also, was reacquainted with Michael Smith, from Beaufort. Pilot Commander aboard the ‘Challenger’, when it exploded On January 28, 1986. Both Astronauts had a profound effect on his ‘Run for Congress’.
- Mr. Weber attended Carteret Community College and went to East Carolina University.
- He has had Military Meteorology Training, taught by one of the Top Meteorologist in the Marine Corps for over 30 years with expertise in Hurricanes and severe weather.
