Good afternoon,
It is time for me to vote, and I plan to do that.
I plan to vote for the candidate that will give me some answers to some questions. I want to know what you plan to do about the price of gas. Not what you plan to do in 5 years - or 10 years - I want to know what you plan to do to control gas prices right now. I cannot afford to go to work, I cannot afford to buy groceries, and it is only getting worse.
Please think carefully before you make any shallow promises. I do not plan to vote for any incumbent that does not start something positive prior to the election.
Sincerely,
Dexter [last name withheld]

Ideas......................Oil Dependency
Cap the gas price now.
Back to Windfall Profit Tax. It was discontinued in 1988. It taxed sudden suspicious upswings in Oil Company Revenue. Reagan stopped it.
Proceed with options and Bio-fuels.
If we devise new energy saving methods, we will take existing pressure off the use of oil. Even Natural Gas production would help. We have lines capped here in Eastern N.C. Windmills could light up the East. 75% of our energy needs could come from Windmills. This would lessen the burden and dependence on oil. Invest 150 Billion on alternative fuels. Money will be there if we stop this war. There's an 'excess tax' which few know off. It too was not made permanent years ago. It provides money from War Profits. And, there is billions there.
I want an audit by a special division of IRS to bring out 'Tax Cheats'.
How can we afford to go to work, start the transport trucks, get those school buses going and flat out survive. And, this will all effect pricing of Food, Retail
etc.
With Warm Regards,

Dear Mr. Weber,
I received your contribution information and am wondering what your position is on our getting out of Iraq.
My position is that we must set up some sort of timetable to get out of this mess or we will be there until the hard line- Islamic fundamentalists drive us out . The Iraqis have little incentive to get their act together when some of them are undoubtedly making big bucks from their associations with us and the rest see us as foreign occupiers.
I think that we should not be asking our troops to be in the situation that they now find themselves in. They signed up to protect OUR country and now are caught in the middle of a civil war or religious conflict- whatever you call it- in a foreign country where they are the targets of everyone.
I also think that financially we can not continue to support this mess. Our country's infrastructure is falling apart and we do not have the money to make repairs let alone improvements. Just look at the lack of funding for the Oregon Inlet bridge. I have been to New Orleans because my best friend lives in Picayune and am very worried that if a severe storm hits in North Carolina, recovery will not be like it was after Fran and Floyd because the government then was there for the people. It is not there for the people today!
You have my best wishes for your campaign and will look forward to seeing your positions
Your truly,

Dear [name witheld],
I just got to my emails. I want to spend time to respond; but, got a call and have to run out. It's very important to say the least.
Quickly, and I will send more to you, Bush disregarded our Integrity, which was built upon for generations of Patriotic and Compassionate Americans. Reasons for war were not found in Iraq. Bush found reason to 'mis-direct' our attentions to Iraq, and it has cost more than 2500 lives to serve 'his' purpose. I and We will call him on this until he is driven from office. There's been little if any attention to Domestic issues.
We are falling apart and our economy is hemorrhaging.
This administration has 'bullied' America and continues to disregard and disrespect us. We have not been 'Righteous' and the world sees this. Bush and those that supported him, including Jones Jr, are anchors, weighing down America. Jones Jr. now is voting like a Democrat in the house. He's a deceiving Republican and goes where the vote blows. He knows that he's got a fight on his hands this time. I just hope that I can get some funding to battle him. I can accept not winning all the time in life; but, what I cannot accept is not getting in the 'fight'.
I am with you on your points, and will expand.
With Warm Regards,

Dear [name witheld],
Remember that I am speaking from the mind and heart of a Marine. If the drama of this war was put into public view like the war during Viet Nam and my time in the Marine Corps, this situation would also be resolved and very soon. Two-thirds of those killed in Iraq are from bomb explosions. Not even a visible enemy to fight. More than 60 per cent of the force over there are Reserves and National Guard. Hence the terms 'National and Reserves'. It is cheaper than sending over our regular forces. Why does it take 13 weeks to make a soldier here; but, it takes two years or more to make an Iraqi Fighter. It is a conflict of three factions
over there and with an odd number any resolve is very far off. A civil war is just waiting to happen. When we finally left Viet Nam, the North Vietnamese stormed into the south and the whole country was taken over. You would think that we would learn. Bush lied and the Republican Congress and Senate sustained and backed him, and that include Walter Jones Jr. The American People were bullied and misdirected into believing and trusting.
We will never regain our integrity and the sanctity of righteousness from the rest of the world, until we exit Iraq.
We look like Capitalist Bullies doing it. We have become what the rest of the world feared we could become.
Here's were we might differ. I want assurance that Bin Laden is gone. If not, get him. Where are those who plotted 9/11? Get them and bring them here. Bring one, two or even three. Bush is not a leader, He's incompetent.
He wasn't even a real officer in the National Guard. Jones Jr. hid in the National Guard from '67 - '71. The Reserves and the Guard of today are fighting their hearts out; but, they are not trained enough. Bush has abused our Military.
While we have been in Iraq, the Al Qaeda and Taliban have regrouped in Afghanistan. Muslim countries will fight each other; but, will always stand together if it means fighting the 'infidels'. We must get out of Iraq, and now, take care of the business in Afghanistan and surrounding harbors for Bin Laden, regain our honor; then head for home.
Believe me, those in the Military over there, want a Righteous Battle. So, we must go for the Righteous Fight.
We must remember those from 9/11. We are off-course. I will not let George Bush get away with it. And, I will not let that sniffling Walter Jones Jr. get away with his lack of conviction and changing colors to follow the way the wind blows the vote for an election year. We cannot trust him with our interest.
Feel free to question me more.
As far as Katrina, we live in a Hurricane prone area. If we think that a Katrina could not happen here, we are sadly mistaken. Right time, right tide, right fetch, right wind and we could be washed over. I have so many ideas for Coastal Security and Preparation; but, to mention those, means Jones Jr. and his people could read and have a heads up on me right now. The time will come. I am with you on the Oregon Inlet Bridge. It's needed as an evacuation route among other things.
More Later,
